Our goal was to create a piece that was at the intersection of art and design by exploring light diffusion, simple geometric shapes, and color theory. The Califonia Light + Space Movement, and Color Theory movements informed the materials, use of color, and diffusion of light. We collaborated with Geo at Quality Neon to use vintage neon glass that has a unique glow. Through experimentation, we found that acrylic sheets diffused the bold neon glow. We were able to create light paintings mirroring the light at dusk and dawn. The final product is a light sculpture that has the ability to profoundly affect any space. Available in 5 colors.
