Amadeo Gabino Ubeda
Amadeo Gabino's artistic journey began at the San Carlos School of Fine Arts in Valencia, following in his sculptor father's footsteps (1939). Scholarships fueled his travels throughout Europe and the US (Rome, Paris, Hamburg, New York) where he encountered avant-garde masters like Max Ernst and Alexander Calder (1949-). These experiences, along with exposure to diverse artistic styles, led him to co-found the Parpalló Group in 1956, introducing new approaches to Valencian art. Gabino's career embraced new materials and explored contemporary trends, influencing sculpture with a technological and functional aesthetic. He actively participated in exhibitions and installations (including the 1954 Milan Triennale), until his passing in 2004.
